James "Tank" Hardy Elliott, 78, of Prospect, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home, on July 13, 2017, with his wife and daughter at his side.

Jim was born May 31, 1939 in Decatur, Texas. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1957. He continued his education on an athletic scholarship at Texas Tech University in Lubbock Texas. He joined the Marines and was honorably discharged in 1960.

Jim was a member of The Carpenters and Millwrights Union, and worked as a Carpenter Foreman from 1963 to 1975. From 1975 to 2001, he was a Construction Superintendent for G.E Johnson Const., Colorado Springs,CO, BFW Const., Temple, TX, JT Schrimsher Const., Huntsville, AL, Nearen Const., Cullman, AL, Crane Const., Little Rock, AR, and Venture Const., Atlanta, GA.

Jim enjoyed playing poker, watching football, fishing and entertaining people with jokes and stories of his life. He had a big and infectious laugh and a loving aura.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyte M. And Tommie S. Elliott, two brothers, Ronald D. and Richard H. Elliott, and one son, Colin Elliott.

His survivors include his loving wife, Diane Elliott of Prospect, TN, son, Mario Elliott and wife Susan of Divide, CO, daughter, Maria Elliott of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, son, James Elliott of Fort Collins, CO, daughter, Jodien Carlisle of Pulaski, TN, and daughter, Joann Loader of Prospect, TN. Also, 10 adoring grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of his wonderful life will be at a later date.
